The Pathwork Diagnostics Laboratory provides a comprehensive service for the preparation and analysis of samples. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has certified the Pathwork Diagnostics Laboratory through its Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) program. The Pathwork Diagnostics Laboratory has also been awarded accreditation by the College of American Pathologists (CAP). The Pathwork Diagnostics Laboratory is licensed to perform the test for every state in the country, including states with their own licensing requirements.

How results are reported:
The Pathwork Laboratory will process the specimen, run the Tissue of Origin Test, and report the results to the ordering physician. Proprietary analytics are used to interpret the data, and a report is generated that provides clear, objective information on the Similarity Score for each of 15 tumor types which includes 58 morphologies overall, uniquely enabling the healthcare provider to rule in or rule out specific tumor types:

Bladder Kidney Pancreas
Breast Melanoma Prostate
Colorectal Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma Sarcoma
Gastric Non-Small Cell Lung Testicular Germ Cell
Hepatocellular Ovarian Thyroid

This easy-to-interpret report provides clear, objective information with a Similarity Score for each tumor type; this information can help physicians in their goal to make better treatment decisions.

Based on results from the Tissue of Origin Test, the Tissue of Origin Endometrial Test and the Tissue of Origin Head & Neck Test are ordered by the Pathwork pathologist when they may further pinpoint the tumor of origin.

NOTE: Tumor types not in the Pathwork Tissue of Origin Test database may have RNA expression patterns that are similar to patterns in the database. Therefore, results cannot be used to distinguish tumor types in the database from tumor types not in the database.
